Finnish Army Psychological Test

fintest

This is a psychological test, which must be passed by all Finnish Army recruits: both men and women. The goal of the test is to reveal potential psychological problems, which may require extra medical attention during military service.

The idea of the test is very simple. Recruits observe the chart and name the digits located inside the circles. Those who see all 6 digits are completely healthy. Those who fail to name more than one digit are required to take a color blindness test. Others - who fail to name only one digit, may have the following mental disorders:

Cannot see circle #1: Increased tendency towards aggression and violence. Additional physical exercise and contrast showers are recommended.

Circle #2: Below average intellectual abilities. No additional measures required.

Circle #3: Gluttony (potential obesity). Increased daily ration and sports activity. Working in sitting position and work on the kitchen are not recommended.

Circle #4: Sadism. Recruits with light forms of the disorder should be appointed to teaching staff. Recruits with heavy forms should be appointed to the disciplinary department.

Circle #5: Latent homosexuality. Strong, uncontrollable sexual attraction towards same-sex personnel is possible. No additional measures required.

Circle #6: Schizophrenia. Complete psychiatric examination is recommended.
